As to the quote, I think what impressed me most was the confidence of the speakers and the sheer variety of the subject matter they covered, the best of which came directly from their own life experiences. Some subjects were familiar -racism, relationships, puberty etc - but the approach was always fresh. To be able to compress an argument into three minutes is a real skill, but to also make it gripping and/or engaging, and personal but universal simultaneously at 14 or 15 is nothing short of inspirational.
